It's early January, and we're off to take part in the annual National Mineworkers Brass Band Festival at the Butlins Skyline Centre, Skegness. This is a major event in the banding calendar which actually takes place over the whole weekend. This year we were only involved in the contest on the Sunday, which meant we travelled there and back on Sunday. We still had time to sample some of the delights the Skyline Centre has to offer though!
We were very well rehearsed and had a great programme, which obviously hit the spot with the adjudicators as we won! We took that beautiful huge rosebowl home with us again, relieving last year's winners of the onerous duty of looking after it for another year!!
