On 2nd April 2017, we successfully defended our title at the National Youth Championships of Great Britain.
This was our third successful title defence in a row and an unprecedented fourth consecutive win, meaning we have been the continuously reigning British National Youth Champions since April 2014!
Simon Dobson's impressive Penlee presented us with a fiendishly difficult test piece challenge, which weeks of rehearsals assured that we could navigate. We completed the programme with the Hymn tune Abide with Me and Peter Graham's Amazonia from his Windows of the World suite.
Extra big congratulations must go to our flugel player, Georgia who lifted the prize for best instrumentalist!
Overall, this was a fantastic, historic day for Youth Brass 2000, coming 28 years to the day since the band's founding! Huge congratulations go to all the players, parents, committee and of course our Artistic Director Chris Jeans for making it possible.
Amazonia from Peter Graham's Windows of the World finished our programme.
