This event was very unusual, and was quite an honour for our band, as were selected along with Enderby Youth to play alongside members of the Philharmonia at the opening ceremony of this huge event. We joined the other players in a fanfare written specially for the occasion. We also had the opportunity to play a couple of our own pieces as well. The stadium was full with both spectators and athletes - we have never played to such a huge audience before! Here are some pictures of the day unfolding.
