We were ready to go to again win this contest, but one by one all our competitors withdrew. Covid 19 was just beginning to die down, but many bands - both adult & youth - had suffered player unavailability due to them being ill with covid. We were the "last man standing", so as there was no other band to compete against, it wasn't going to be a competition! We had already agreed to play the Gala Concert, which we were delighted to be invited to do, but as we had planned ages ago to take part in the Sunday contest, it was decided that we would perform our "contest set" as an entertainment piece just before the adult entertainment contest started. This we did indeed do - to a hugely appreciative audience!
