This year our annual tour took us to Austria. On the way, we called at the famous Menin Gate, which commemorates those who fell during the Great War, who have no known grave. Every day the "Last Post" ceremony is held, and we had arranged to provide the music for this ceremony. A huge crowd watched as we played "Deep Harmony" and "Abide With Me". Eleanor laid a wreath on behalf of the band.

Once the ceremony was over, it was back on the coach for a tip to Munich where one of our players was waiting, then the long run to Austria. Our hotel is one we have stayed at before - a wonderful large "chalet-style" hotel in the foothills of the Alps. A very convenient location for our various concerts.

We played some excellent concerts, and luckily the weather was kind to us for each concert. One of our trips out was to the infamous "Eagle's Nest" - students of WWII will know all about that!

Another brilliant tour, and our thanks must go to Don for his work in organising it. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy, courtesy of our expert in-house photographer, Dave Culpin.
